Danny Amendola's injury has created quite a cloud of uncertainty. It was reported earlier in the week that his injury would keep him out for as much as six weeks. However, Pro Football Talk reports that Amendola will not go through with the sports hernia surgery, which would have kept him out those six weeks.
As the report says, Amendola was told that he needed the surgery in order to fix the injury. However, he sought out a second opinion who said otherwise, thus, keeping him from missing all six weeks. While he will still miss time, the timetable is thought to be a couple of weeks.
The report was originally made by Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald, who reiterated that Amendola has opted not to have surgery, but that Amendola will not return to the lineup immediately.
While Amendola will still miss action on the field, the news should be seen in a positive light as Amendola should be coming back sooner than originally thought. That will do wonders for a passing game that was abysmal, to say the least, against the New York Jets in Week 2.
