Steven Ridley had a forgettable game in the New England Patriots 23-21 victory over the Buffalo Bills. He had one fumble in the early going that was recovered by the Patriots. However, his second fumble would be the most costly one as he would not see the field afterwards. That fumble was returned for a touchdown by the Bills Da'Norris Searcy as he fell to the ground without being touched and failed to secure the ball and ended his afternoon.
Ridley was then benched for the rest of the game. Regardless, NBC's profootballtalk.com reports that Ridley told reporters after the game, "Hey I'm not going to pout about it, just keep grinding."
With the strong play of Shane Vereen, who ran for 101 yards on 14 carries and caught seven passes for 58 yards, it appears Ridley wil have be battling an uphill battle to get his spot back. Bill Belichick is known for not tolerating turnovers, so Ridley may be in Belichick's doghouse for the time being.
