The New England Patriots continue to add to the 23 roster transactions they have made since cutdown day. It appears that the Patriots hadn't cleaned out RB Leon Washington's locker for a reason, as the team has announced that they have re-signed Washington. They have also moved OL Josh Kline from the practice squad to the 53-man roster as OL Will Svitek is out of Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills due to a knee injury.
Washington has had quite the week as he has been cut by the Patriots, worked out for the New York Jets and then signed by the Patriots today. Washington will not see any action from the running back position as Steven Ridley and Shane Vereen will garner most of the workload in Sunday's game against the Bills. However, Washington will likely be relegated to PR/KR duties as the he has eight kickoff return touchdowns in his career, tied for most all-time with Josh Cribbs.
Kline was signed on September 4 after being released on September 2. He has been on the practice squad throughout the whole week. Cave was claimed off waivers from the Cleveland Browns before being released on September 5.
