Stop me if you have heard this before, but the New England Patriots have signed three more players today. While the team takes a day off from practice, they didn't take a day off from searching for more players as they signed tight end Matthew Mulligan to the 53-man roster and signed tackles Jordan Devey and R.J. Dill to the practice squad.
Mulligan has played four years in the NFL with the New York Jets, Green Bay Packers and St. Louis Rams. He spent his first two season with the Jets before spending all of 2012 on the Rams. He was with the Packers for all of training camp before being released and the tight end has appeared in 50 games where he has totaled 14 catches, 144 yards and one touchdown.
Devey is a rookie free agent who was with the Baltimore Ravens until this past weekend. He was put on the practice squad on September 1 and then released the day after. He appeared in 24 games for Memphis after transferring from Snow College.
Dill is also a rookie free agent who spent all of training camp with the Jacksonville Jaguars before being released on August 30. He started all 13 games at Rutgers in 2012 after transferring from Maryland in 2011 where he started all three years for the Terps.
