Tom Brady received the second most votes of any player, however, the one player to beat him was his rival and fellow quarterback, Peyton Manning.
The fan vote counts for one third of the player selection process for the pro bowl. The Coaches and the players themselves account for the other two thirds.
Other Patriots finishing in the top five at their respective positions include Devin McCourty fourth at cornerback, both starting defensive ends finished in the top five with rookie Chandler Jones finishing fourth and Rob Ninkovich fifth, Brandon Spikes was fourth at linebacker, and Vince Wilfork third at defensive tackle. On the offensive side of the ball Stevan Ridley received the third most votes at running back, Aaron Hernandez fourth at tight end, Wes Welker third at receiver, Nate Solder fifth at offensive tackle, and Dan Connolly finished fourth at guard. The Patriots also had three players on special teams finish in the top five with Stephen Gostkowski, Zoltan Mesko, and Matthew Slater finishing fourth, second, and fourth at kicker, punter, and special teams respectively.
