With a little luck, some good timing and a robust bank account, you could be the proud owner of the Dainese leathers that Movistar Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi wore at the Gran Premio d’Italia TIM at the Tuscany Valley’s Mugello circuit earlier this month.
Rossi’s Dainese D-Air leathers from the Italian MotoGP became available on Ebay at 8 a.m. EST today and the auction can be accessed via the Dainese website. Nine-time World Champion Rossi wore these leathers for his home race in Italy, which was also his landmark 300th Grand Prix. The popular Italian racer finished third at the event.
According to Dainese, the back side of Rossi’s 2014 Mugello leathers bears the hashtag #thisforSIC58. This is the official hashtag that Dainese created to commemorate the late Marco Simoncelli. Rossi wore the leathers to show support for the Foundation dedicated to his friend and fellow countryman Simoncelli, and its projects of solidarity and cooperation.
By purchasing the Dainese suit worn by the Tavullia champion on Ebay, the highest bidder will make a significant contribution to the Santa Marta project, a day center for disabled people that the organization is building near Coriano, Simoncelli’s hometown.
Additionally, the lucky buyer will receive the authentic leather Dainese suit delivered to their location of choice inside a special display case and autographed by Rossi himself.
Most recently, Rossi finished second at last weekend’s GP Monster Energy de Catalunya at Spain’s scenic Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Next week, the Movistar Yamaha rider and the rest of the MotoGP paddock will travel to the Netherlands to contest round eight of the series, the Iveco Daily TT Assen.Tags: Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Coriano, Dainese, Ebay, Marco Simoncelli, motogp, Motorsports, Movistar Yamaha, Netherlands, Tavullia, Tuscany Valley, Valentino Rossi
