On Wednesday Harry Scott Jr announced that he has changed the name of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team that he bought from James Finch five months ago from Phoenix Racing to HScott Motorsports. The name change comes as part of a rebranding effort prior to the start of the 2014 season.
Justin Allgaier will drive the No. 51 Chevrolet for the full season in his rookie campaign. BRANDT will sponsor the majority of the season on Allgaier's car and Steve Addington will be his crew chief as well as the competition director for HScott Motorsports. Bobby Labonte will drive a second car numbered 52 in select races in 2014 and James Finch will be listed as that teams owner.
"I am truly looking forward to the 2014 season," Scott said in a team release. "We have two great drivers in place with Justin Allgaier and Bobby Labonte, we've partnered with great sponsors and the team is ready and excited for Daytona. Now that we have launched the HScott Motorsports brand, everything is in place. We can't wait for the season to get started and to get back to racing."
