Long time NASCAR Nationwide Series team ML Motorsports has announced that they have closed their doors and that they have ceased operations of the #70 Chevrolet team effective immediately. The team has run a part time schedule in the NASCAR Nationwide Series since the 2006 season and has run the last two seasons with Florida native Johanna Long.
Long has been looking for a ride for the 2014 season since the end of the 2013 season when her contract with the Wasaw, Indiana based team ran out. Mary Louise Miller, the team's owner, has stated that the team is shutting down due to lack of corporate sponsorship. The team has been in operation since the 1999 season when the team ran in the ARCA Racing Series. The team won six races in ARCA. The team won four races with Chad Blount and two races with Jason Jarrett.
In the Nationwide Series Mark Green gave the operation its best finish, which was fifth at Talladega Superspeedway in 2008. The last two seasons the team received some notoriety when giving the female Johanna Long an opportunity. Long never recorded a top ten with the team but ran well at times finishing in the top 15 four times.
