FAS Lane Racing, owned by Frank Stoddard, and Go Green Racing announced that the teams will have a joint operation in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for 2014 and beyond starting with the season opening Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway. Go Green Racing owner Archie St. Hilaire commented on the situation.
"Frank has a great program here at FAS Lane Racing and we believe that by combining our resources, we can take the program to the next level," said St. Hilaire. "It's been my goal to race in the Sprint Cup Series on a weekly basis and this joint venture makes the most sense for both parties."
FAS Lane Racing finished 37th in the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series owner points using Terry Labonte, Ken Schrader, Boris Said and Timmy Hill as their drivers of the No. 32 Ford in 2013. The team has announced that the veteran Labonte will return to the seat for the 56th annual Daytona 500 on February 23rd . Labonte is a two time series champion. The team will continue to field Fords, using Roush-Yates Engines in 2014.
They have also announced that veteran Dan Stillman will be the crew chief for the team. Stillman has 45 Sprint Cup Series races under his belt as a crew chief. Stillman has won five races in the NASCAR Nationwide Series as crew chief, four coming with Carl Edwards in the 2009 season. Stillman was the crew chief for German Quiroga in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2013 at Red Horse Racing.
