It was a busy day as far as Nationwide Series news was concerned on Friday as two teams announced their plans for the 2014 NASCAR Nationwide Series season.

JD Motorsports with Gary Keller announced that Landon Cassill will drive the team's #4 entry with sponsorship from G&K Services. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native ran 23 of the 33 races in the NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2013 and had a best finish of 17th which he did twice. He will run the full schedule for the team. Cassill also ran 33 of 36 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races for Circle Sport Racing. No word on how this announcement will effect his Sprint Cup plans in 2014. The team also announced that Canadian Daryl Harr will run a second car for the organization at least part time in the series. Harr has 18 career NASCAR Nationwide Series starts over four seasons. He has a best finish of 23rd which he did back in 2011.

The announcement means that veteran racer Mike Wallace will not be back with the organization for a sixth season. Wallace has been at JD Motorsports since the 2009 season. Wallace is third on the all-time NASCAR Nationwide Series starts list with 482 starts behind brother Kenny Wallace and Jason Keller. Wallace finished 17th in the NASCAR Nationwide Series points standings in 2013.

Also coming out of the Nationwide Series garage was the news that former NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion James Buescher would run full-time for RAB Racing. Buescher, a Texas native, has run for his father-in-laws team, Turner Scott Motorsports the last four seasons and won the Camping World Truck Series championship in 2012. He has six truck series wins and one Nationwide Series win to his credit. Buescher replaces Alex Bowman who ran 32 of 33 races for the team in 2013, finishing 11th in the series point standings. The #99 Toyota team finished 16th in owner points.

Sponsorship for Buescher will be announced at a later date. No word on Alex Bowman's plans for 2014.
