The biggest free agent left on the Formula 1 market Nico Hulkenberg has signed a multi-year deal to return to Sahara Force India for the 2014 season. Hulkenberg drove for the team in 2012 before moving to Sauber in 2013.

In the 2012 season with Force India the 26-year-old Hulkenberg scored 63 championship points which was 11th overall.

“I am happy to come back to Sahara Force India,” said Hulkenberg. “The team is aiming high for next year and I believe that the experience I have gained over the years will help us achieve those goals. I genuinely believe we can have a competitive package in 2014."
At Sauber in 2013 Hulkenberg scored 51 championship points and finished tenth in the standings. He was on a tear late in the season scoring points in six of the final eight races. Force India scored 77 points on the season most coming in the first part of the 2013 season. Sauber ended with 57 points but was strong toward the end of the season.
“I’m delighted to see Nico back with Sahara Force India,”  Vijay Mallya, Force India’s team principal and managing director said. “When he drove for us in 2012, it became clear Nico was an exceptional talent and he has continued to impress everyone in the paddock with his strong performances this season."
Hulkenberg started his F1 career at Williams in 2010 and scored 22 championship points. He did not compete in the 2011 season. Hulkenberg will look to score his first career podium finish in 2014.
Force India has not decided on their second driver for the 2014 season. Paul di Resta and Adrian Sutil drove for the team in 2013.
