Jimmie Johnson took the pole for Sunday's Advocare 500 at Phoenix International Raceway Friday and in doing so set a new track record in the process. Johnson took the pole at a speed of 139.222 mph. It's Johnson's 32nd career pole and the third of the 2013 season. Starting second in the race will be Denny Hamlin with Joey Logano starting third, Kyle Busch starting fourth and Jeff Gordon will start fifth. Starting in the sixth position is Clint Bowyer with Kasey Kahne starting seventh, Kurt Busch eighth, Kevin Harvick ninth and Martin Truex Jr rounds out the top ten.
Starting in the 11th position is Dale Earnhardt Jr with Brad Keselowski starting in the 12th position. Starting 13th is Paul Menard with Matt Kenseth rolling off from the 14th position. Starting 15th is Jeff Burton with Mark Martin starting in the 16th position, Ryan Newman starting 17th, Greg Biffle 18th, Juan Pablo Montoya 19th and Marcos Ambrose will start from the 20th position.
Other notables in the field include Carl Edwards in 23rd and Danica Patrick in 32nd.
There were 43 cars entered for the Advocare 500 which means all 43 cars that qualified made the race.
The Advocare 500 at Phoenix International Raceway starts at 3:15 p.m. ET on ESPN.
