Kevin Harvick Takes Pole for Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway

It's been since September 2006 that Kevin Harvick sat on a pole for a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event but Friday Harvick took the pole for the fourth Chase race for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. It's Harvick's sixth career Sprint Cup Series pole and he took the pole at a speed of 187.526 mph. Harvick's race team, Richard Childress Racing, hadn't sat on a pole since September 2007. Starting on the front row with Harvick is rookie Ricky Stenhouse Jr. 

Jimmie Johnson will start from the third position with Brad Keselowski starting fourth and Joey Logano fifth. Starting in the sixth position is Dale Earnhardt Jr with Matt Kenseth starting seventh and Paul Menard starting from the eighth position. Starting ninth is Carl Edwards and Brad Keselowski rounds out the top ten. 

Brian Vickers will start from the 11th position with Juan Pablo Montoya 12th. Starting 13th is Martin Truex Jr with Jeff Gordon starting 14th. Starting 15th Kasey Kahne with Jeff Burton starting from the 16th position. Starting 17th is Ryan Newman and Kyle Busch will start 18th. Starting from the 19th position is Kurt Busch and Aric Almirola will start from the 20th position. 

Other notables in the field include Justin Allgaier in 21st, Clint Bowyer in 22nd, Mark Martin in 23rd, and Greg Biffle in 26th. Danica Patrick will start 29th. Allgaier is making is second career Sprint Cup Series race for Phoenix Racing.

There were 43 entires for the Hollywood Casino 400 meaning all drivers that took time made the field. 

The Hollywood Casino 400 will start at 2:16 p.m. ET Sunday on ESPN.
