Brian Scott took the pole for Friday night's NASCAR Nationwide Series Virginia 529 College Savings 250 at Richmond International Raceway. It's Scott's second career NASCAR Nationwide Series pole of his career. Scott took the pole at a speed of 124.327 mph. Starting on the outside of the front row with Scott will be Matt Kenseth who is driving the #18 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing.
Austin Dillon will start from the third position with Brad Keselowski starting fourth and teammate Sam Hornish Jr is starting in the fifth position. Rookie Alex Bowman will start from the sixth position with Kyle Busch starting seventh, Regan Smith eighth, Brian Vickers ninth and veteran Kenny Wallace will start from the tenth position.
Starting in the 11th position will be Michael Annett with rookie Parker Kligerman starting in the 12th position. Starting in the 13th position is Justin Allgaier with Jamie McMurray starting in the 14th position. McMurray is running the #5 Chevrolet this weekend for JR Motorsports. Starting 15th is Trevor Bayne with Nelson Piquet Jr starting 16th and Elliott Sadler starting 17th. Starting in the 18th position is Kyle Larson with Ty Dillon starting 19th and Jeff Green rounds out the top 20.
Other notables in the field include Travis Pastrana in 22nd and Johanna Long in 25th.
There were 45 cars entered into the field for Friday's NASCAR Nationwide Series race meaning five cars missed the field. Those five cars include Danny Efland, Carl Long, Morgan Shepherd, Derrike Cope and Brett Butler.
