It's been nine years since Frank Kimmel has hopped into a NASCAR Camping World Truck, but this weekend the nine time ARCA Racing Series champion will drive the #13 truck for ThorSport Racing in this weekend's American Ethanol 200 at Iowa Speedway. Kimmel drives the #44 for ThorSport racing in the ARCA Racing Series full time and currently leads the points.
It's Kimmel's first truck series start since May 2004. The 52-year old will try to earn his third career top ten finish in the truck series as he will carry along his ARCA series sponsors Ansell and Menards for the race.
"It's really exciting – of course to get back in a truck – but all my guys that work on the ARCA cars will be crewing the truck at Iowa," Kimmel said.
Kimmel has made 12 previous starts in the Camping World Truck Series. The #13 Toyota currently sits 13th in the Camping World Truck Series owner points. Todd Bodine drove the first seven races of the season and gave the truck a season best 11th place finish at Daytona and Martinsville. Brett Moffitt ran the #13 at Kentucky and finished 14th.
