Ryan Blaney ran a lap of 175.160 mph to take the pole for the Thursday night's UNOH 225 at Kentucky Speedway. It's Blaney's first career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series pole. Starting on the outside of the front row is fellow teenage driver Darrell Wallace Jr.
Starting third in the event will be John Wes Townley with Brendan Gaughan rolling off in the fourth position. Starting in the fifth position is Joey Coulter with teammate Kyle Busch starting sixth. Starting seventh is Matt Crafton in the Menards Toyota with Germain Quiroga starting in the eighth position. Starting ninth is Timothy Peters with Miguel Paludo rounding out the top ten.
Other notables in the field include Jeb Burton in 11th, Brad Keselowski in 12th and James Buescher in 13th. Ron Hornaday Jr starts 15th and Johnny Sauter will roll off from the 16th position. Cale Gale will roll off 18th and Ty Dillon starts 22nd. Dillon got extremely loose in the qualifying and nearly hit the wall. Dillon saved it, but it hurt his speed and he will start in 22nd because of it.
There was one accident during the qualifying session when Brett Moffitt spun and hit the wall during his lap coming out of turn two. Moffitt is making his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut in the #13 Toyota for Thorsport Racing. Moffitt's truck was destroyed and he was forced to move to a backup truck. Moffitt will roll off from the 35th position.
