Brett Moffitt has been one of NASCAR's best drivers in the K&N East Series the past few seasons and finally the 19-year-old from Grimes, Iowa will get a chance to prove himself in one of NASCAR's top three divisions.
Todd Bodine tweeted Tuesday that Moffitt will replace him in the #13 Toyota for Thorsport Racing in next weekend's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series UNOH 225 at Kentucky Speedway. Moffitt has made 53 starts in the K&N East Series, winning nine races and recording 39 top ten finishes. In 2010 Moffitt finished runner-up in the point standings. He is the current points leader of the series.
Bodine has run every race so far in the 2013 season and hasn't registered a top ten finish. His best finish was 11th which he has done twice. No word on Bodine's future.
Moffitt made one NASCAR Nationwide Series start in 2012 for RAB Racing at Iowa in August. Moffitt finished ninth.Tags: Brett Moffitt, Motorsports, NASCAR, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Todd Bodine
