Recently confirmed by Dana White, the bout between Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva, which previously headlined The Ultimate Fighter Brazil finale will be moved to UFC 175 in Las Vegas. Replacing the bout on the TUF card is a heavyweight fight between former champion, Junior Dos Santos, and surging contender, Stipe Miocic.
The bout between Dos Santos and Miocic was originally slated to serve as the co-main event at UFC 173, a card headlined by a bantamweight title fight between TJ Dillashaw and Renan Barao. Now, with Dos Santos vs Miocic removed from UFC 173, the next fight on that card is a welterweight fight between Robbie Lawler and Jake Ellenberger. Lawler and Ellenberger are sure to put on a show as both wlterweights have a keen ability to knock their opponents out, in fact, both have made a name for themselves doing just that.
Sonnen vs. Silva will act as the co-main event, under the middleweight title fight between Chris Weidman and Lyoto Machida. Sonnen and Silva is a fight that many fans are itching to see as both men have been feuding for quite some time. Coaching against each other on The Ultimate Fighter Brazil, Sonnen and Silva have had plenty of altercations and, with any luck, their fight will display the obvious tenacity between the two.
Though, the news about Sonnen and Silva has been confirmed, there is still plenty of time for more fights to be shuffled around, and, based on previous history, they probably will be.
