Loading ...Andrei Arlovski defeated Travis Fulton via last second head kick knockout, in the semi-main event of ProElite: Big Guns. The fight was not that exciting however, with both fighter reluctant to engage.
Fulton came forward with inside leg kicks early, and returned to them seconds later before initiating the clinch. Putting Arlovski's back on the cage Fulton had no trouble keeping the fight there, but could not get anything else done. Landing a two punch combination when Fulton stepped in for another leg kick, Arlovski finally looked ready to fight. He was not however, and allowed Fulton to land a few more leg kicks. As the first round came to a close, Arlovski threw a few half-hearted leg kicks, and a loose straight.
Fulton connected with a few knees after pressuring Arlovski against the cage in the second round, but was turned around and taken down. Fulton forced Arlovski to let him back to his feet however, by threatening with a leg lock. Establishing his jab and a leg kick, Arlovski landed two tight left hooks but did not follow up. Catching Fulton coming forward with a combination, Arlovski landed another left hand, and looked for a spinning back fist as the second round ended. The fans in attendance appreciated neither however, booing the relative inactivity.
Fulton looked for a takedown when the final round started, but Arlovski avoided it and put him on his back. Standing up from side control, Arlovski invited Fulton up, but again was hesitant to let his hands go. Fulton was as well, and neither man seemed interested in trying to steal this fight. Sprawling another takedown attempt by Fulton, Arlovski got to side control again, and landed just enough to keep the position. Fulton tried getting back to his feet but was just not strong, nor technically sound, enough to do so, and remained on his back until Arlovski invited him back to his feet with 45 seconds on the clock. It seemed that neither would use those seconds, until a nasty head kick from Arlovski knocked Fulton out.
