"Normality is not going to hit our team," Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo said. "I still think we have enough to do it without being normal, I really do. I think we have enough different pieces where we can still make a serious run at this league championship and beyond."

Gary Harris, the star sophomore, again led the Spartans in scoring with 21 points in the game. Adreian Payne followed suit with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Denzel Valentine also notched 13 points, six assists, and eight boards.

While the Spartans did well on the boards, they failed to keep the ball secure. As a team the Spartans committed 13 turnovers compared to Michigan’s three.

Another key point to Michigan’s victory was the Spartans’ inability to contain Wolverine guard Nik Stauskas. He scored 21 of his total 25 points in the second half. He shot 9-13 from the field, including 3-5 from behind the arch. Stauskas also notched three rebounds and five assists.

Wolverine Caris LeVert contributed as well with 23 points, shooting 7-15. He also shot 3-5 from behind the arch and notched three boards and three assists.

Michigan State is now 22-6 for the season and 11-4 in conference play. They will host the Illinois Illini next on Saturday the first of March. The Spartans previously beat the Illini on the road in January, 78-62.
