Michigan State Hockey Team Welcomes Six More Players to the Upcoming Season

Michigan State hockey coach Tom Anastos has recently announced that 6 more players have committed to play hockey at Michigan State University for next season. Forwards Mackenzie MacEachern (of Troy, MI) and Mike Ferrantino (of Plymouth, MI) have signed National Letters of Intent. Defenseman Nickolas Gatt (of Farmington Hills, MI) is transferring from Alabama-Hunstville and David Bondra (of Annapolis, MD), Brock Krygier (of Novi, MI) and Connor Wood (of Bloomfield Hills, MI) have enrolled at MSU for the fall semester. This means that there will be 11 newcomers for the MSU hockey program for the 2012-13 season.

When asked about the newcomers coach Tom Anastos remarked:

"We lost a large class last season, which included a lot of experienced players. We are excited about this group, as it has a nice blend of talent, leadership and toughness. As they gain experience, we look for these players to make big contributions to our program."

Strong skating left winger with very good skill set.

MICHAEL FERRANTINO
Forward; 5-9, 175; DOB 1/1/93, Plymouth, Mich/Omaha Lancers (USHL)

Hardworking centerman who is very smart, plays with a relentless intensity, is a good face-off man and has strong leadership capabilities.

NICKOLAS GATT
Junior, Defenseman; 6-3, 185; DOB 12/20/90; Farmington Hills, Mich./Alabama Huntsville

Strong skating, puck-moving defenseman. Smart player, excellent student.

BROCK KRYGIER
Defenseman; 6-0, 180; DOB 12/9/93; Novi Mich./ Detroit Honeybaked U-18

Steady, puck-moving defenseman who takes great pride in his defensive play. Strong skater with a high hockey IQ.

MACKENZIE MacEACHERN
Forward; 6-2, 175; DOB 3/9/94; Troy Mich./ Brother Rice/ Chicago Steel (USHL)

Very dynamic scorer in high school … Big, with a very good reach … has good hands, sees the ice well and has a good scoring touch around the net.

CONNOR WOOD
Forward; 5-10, 170; DOB 3/7/94; Bloomfield Hills, Mich./ Detroit Honeybaked U18

Speedy centerman who has a lot of winning experience playing in the Honeybaked organization for many years. Plays with great energy and creates offense through hard work and speed. Strong leadership qualities.

JAKE HILDEBRAND

Big goalie who is quick and moves well … Very competitive.
