The lack of a running game for the Miami Dolphins is a two-fold problem. It's hard to run when there's not place to go. But when Lamar Miller and company have had any space to squeeze through, they still haven't been able to do so. The Dolphins offensive line has pretty much been a wet paper towel at times allowing 24 sacks so far this season and they've allowed Ryan Tannehill to be hit 35 times.
The team ranks 28th in rushing with only 69 yards per game. The 0-6 Giants are only two yards behind. Only the Redskins (89) and Steelers (73) have fewer rushing attempts than the Dolphins 95. A new stat on NFL.com ranks the Dolphins offensive line at 32 – dead last – in the league. Does anyone have an answer? When the boys at the NFL Network asked wide receiver Brian Hartline, he didn't have one.
"I would say our coaches are really wanting one of the guys to step up," Hartline said on the air. "You want someone to take the bull by the reins, and the coaches feel like that hasn't happened yet. So, until that happens, we are going to see multiple guys coming out of the backfield."
Miller's last game tallied 15 yards on seven carries. With no one to trust blocking or running, don't look for this to improve without some new faces on board.
