This season the defense had picked up a nickname among themselves – The Brotherhood. Defensive players Cameron Wake, Paul Soliai and Randy Starks were the brains behind the name and they've made shirts to celebrate the new name. But they are stingy in who gets one. They black t-shirts have to be "earned." Teammates and coaches recognize those who stand out and are helping the Dolphins defense gain a reputation as tough and stingy.
In only two games this season, the Dolphin D is tied for fewest points allowed per game with the New York Jets and Oakland Raiders. A few other impressive rankings include fourth in third down efficiency, sixth in interception percentage and ninth in sacks per pass. The non de plume may prove to be beneficial should the team continue on its high-level play. The camaraderie should build confidence among the defense.
Just remember, the No Names won a Super Bowl, the Killer B's participated in one but came up short. What's in a name? We shall see…
