The final roster moves have been made. As of today’s cut deadline of 6:00 p.m., the Miami Dolphins went from 75 players to the final count of 53. Following Thursday’s home game win against the New Orleans Saints, the scouting and coaching staff most likely spent Friday in meetings and comparing notes in order to come to today's decisions. Considering the previous roster moves, this one had to be the toughest of the bunch.

The roster moves are as follows:

Guard: Chris Barker

Center: Sam Brenner

Wide Receivers: Chad Bumphis, Keenan Davis, Marvin McNutt, Brian Tyms

Defensive Tackles: A.J. Francis, Tracey Robertson, Kheeston Randall

Running Back: Jonas Gray

Safeties: Keelan Johnson, Jordan Kovacs

Tackle: Andrew McDonald

Tight End: Kyle Miller

Defensive End: Tristin Okpalaugo

Cornerbacks: Julian Posey, De’Andre Presley

Linebackers: Lee Robinson, Austin Spitler

Tight End: Jeff Adams

Quarterback: Aaron Corp

Terminated Contracts

Linebacker: Antwan Applewhite

The remaining roster has the possibility for future edits. Players with a career of less than four years who were waived could make the practice squad. There’s also the potential of trades between other NFL teams.

Some of the released players (i.e. Marvin McNutt, Jonas Gray, Tristin Okpalaugo) could come as a surprise. A number of these players reported noteworthy receptions, rushes, tackles and sacks. Just last Thursday McNutt had a game winning 56-yard reception.  However, as Coach Joe Philbin keeps reminding the media, he’s looking for consistency and players who ultimately fit a piece of the Dolphin’s puzzle.

The pre-season is now behind the Dolphins, the 53-man roster is finalized and on September 8th the games start to truly count. The Dolphins will face the Cleveland Browns on their turf. The 2013 Miami Dolphins must now focus on what’s ahead. It’s a brand new football season and another chance at the big prize, a Vince Lombardi Trophy. In the NFL, anything can happen. Good luck, Dolphins!
