Three Miami Dolphins Players’ Who are Fantasy Football Draft Ready!

During this offseason a few Miami Dolphins had their names thrown around as potential Fantasy draft picks. However, a Phins' player is less likely to be drafted before such players as Adrian Peterson and Jimmy Graham. But, it should be noted that the following Phins could serve as a great pick in regards to an option two at a position or even a late season grab from waivers.

Dustin Keller –TE

Tight end Dustin Keller had a rough 2012 season with the New York Jets. Last season, Keller was mired by an ankle and  groin injury, which resulted in him playing just about half of the season. As a new addition to the Miami Dolphins' passing unit, Phin nation is hoping that his injuries are now an issue of the past (such as his past ties to the division rival, New York Jets). Hopes are that Keller will work to get his team to the end zone (an area of the field that the Phins struggled to reach last season).

The preseason doesn’t hold too much clout. Nevertheless, Keller is playing with zero signs of a lasting injury. Last week, against the Jacksonville Jaguars, he caught two passes for a 46-yard total and one touchdown. Tannehill played very comfortable with Keller and looked to him often during the game.

Fellow teammate, Brian Hartline also approves of his new teammate being an asset to growing the Phins' passing game. "His presence in the passing game is going to be huge," Hartline said. "You can see, kind of speaking hopefully for myself, we’re designing our offense through the passing game. Having a dynamic pass-catching tight end like Dustin Keller is important."(CBS Sports)

Keller deserves a spot either as a bye option or a late season pick-up on waivers. If Ryan Tannehill gets in a good groove this season, Keller is sure to reap the benefits.

Lamar Miller – RB

Running back Lamar Miller has received an abundant amount of attention from sports analyst around the league. All signs point to his success this year. Last season, the Phins had Reggie Bush as their feature back, while Miller jumped in whenever he was allowed the chance. Now with Bush a Detroit Lion, Miller will have the opportunity to prove his worth.

“My goal is 1500. I have a great offensive lineman. So hopefully we can get the job done,” said Miller. As for touchdowns he’s aiming for 15.

Despite reports out of training camp that left tackle Jonathon Martin is performing way below standard, Miller believes that Martin will be the big surprise for the Phins coming into his second year. Hopefully he’s right, because Miller will need his OL for his success.

Considering Miller’s goals and the final 2012 running back statistics, those targets will put him right below the #1 ranked running back, Adrian Peterson. Peterson finished with 2,097 yards and 12 touchdowns. Coming in second was Arian Foster with 1,424 yards and 15 touchdowns. If Miller is a man of his word he will make his Fantasy Football teams very happy this year.

Play it safe. When picking the two running backs for your Fantasy team, make sure Lamar Miller is the 2nd selection.

Brian Hartline – WR

In the offseason the Dolphins secured Brian Hartline with a five-year and near $31 million contract. With that being said, the reason Hartline should have Fantasy draft consideration is to not only prove his worth, but also in good part to the arrival of fellow receiver, Mike Wallace. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill wants to have as many pass options as he can get. Nevertheless, defenders will have their sites set on double teaming Wallace, that Hartline will be left with single man coverage.

Hartline finished 2012 with a career best of 1,083 yards. Going into the 2013 it’s sure he wants to prove his $31 million worth and greatly surpass his one touchdown from last year.

Considering the Dolphins difficulty at finding the end zone via their pass options, Hartline is likely a late round draft pick. Similar to Dustin Keller, Hartline’s season will depend on how well his quarterback does at getting him the ball. Save him for the late rounds as a bench pick.
