An example of this would be Shinji Kagawa, the Japanese midfielder has only played seven minutes in a substitute appearance for Manchester United this season, and that was back in August's Community Shield victory against Wigan at Wembley.
Kagawa has broken from his frustrated silence this week and said:
Please ask David Moyes why I'm not in the side.
The United boss insists there is a simple explanation for this, and says it stems from Kagawa's late return to pre-season due to his national team commitments in this summer's Confederations Cup.
There are quite a lot of players that haven't featured yet, but if you look at it most of them were late back from international duty after the Confederations Cup, then they were away for a friendly international and a long-haul flight, then they were away again for another international.
If you look at the reasons why people haven't played, it is more to do with them not being available for that to happen.
Moyes went onto discuss his deadline-day business, and his attempt to bring Leighton Baines and Fabio Coentrao to United. He also stated that bringing in those players wasn't an attempt at pushing vice captain Patrice Evra out the door, but an attempt to give him some healthy competition.
I just felt we needed to make sure we had good cover for Patrice, he has played brilliantly well but I hope we are going to have a season that is going to include 60 or 70 games.
Patrice played a big majority of the games last season but I just want to make sure if he broke down I had the right people around to help me.
Evra is well known for being one of the more vocal and leading characters in the dressing room, having won five Premier League crowns previously you can imagine him to voice his opinion on the matter.
Moyes however, says he has not felt the need to speak to the 32-year-old about his role at the club.
I have not because he is such a good professional, he knew exactly what we were doing.
If you play for Manchester United there is always someone out there getting ready to take your jersey.
It is up to you to fight and make sure you keep it.
