Only a few days after reports suggested that Serie A club Inter Milan were poised to sign Sao Paulo 19 year old Lucas Moura, reports now claim that Manchester United are the club that are about to land the Brazilian international's signature. The deal to bring Moura to Old Trafford will cost the Red Devils around £30 million.
After a week that saw Inter step up their pursuit of the midfielder and Manchester City showing an interest, United now appear to be the favorites to sign Moura whose deal to the club Sir Alex Ferguson has made a top priority. Harry Harris of ESPN Soccernet also suggest that Moura will receive 30% of the transfer fee. If United are indeed front-runners to sign the Brazilian player, it will mark the end of a pro-longed transfer deal with United and Sao Paulo going back and forth over how much the player's transfer is worth.
Moura is currently representing his country Brazil in the 2012 London Olympic Games, and Ferguson is anxious to push a deal through for the midfielder before other parties step up their interests.
