The former Blue Devil played four seasons at Duke under respectable head coach, Mike Krzyzewski, where he held career averages of 7.5 points and 3.7 rebounds while shooting 46 percent from the field. In his senior year, he had his best year averaging 12.9 points and 5.3 rebounds.
Kelly did not participate for the Lakers' summer league team due to his foot injury. The 22-year-old is recovering from an offseason foot surgery, and he will likely miss the start of training camp.
While late second round draft picks usually don't make much of an impact for their squad, Kelly was drafted because of his ability to stretch the floor as a power forward. His excellent three point shooting will be a nice addition to the Lakers.
