Luc Robitaille, who was named to the Hockey Hall of Fame’s (HHOF) Selection Committee in March. He is a part of the group whose discussions and voting will form 2014’s HHOF inductees. The 2014 Hall of Fame class will officially be announced on Tuesday. The inductions will take place on November 10 in Toronto.
Robitaille is one of 18 members, appointed by the Board of Directors, whose mandate is to nominate and elect candidates as Honoured Members in the Player, Builder and Referee/Linesman categories.
The 18 members will judge the excellence of a collection the above categories. The players are required to have 14 votes for induction. There is a maximum of 14 players inducted per year.
Via the HHOF, “Player and Referee/Linesman candidates must have concluded their respective playing or officiating careers for a minimum of three playing seasons. Players eligible are those that retired prior to the 2010-11 season.
