Los Angeles Kings assigned forward Colin Fraser to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League on Sunday, after Fraser had cleared waivers earlier in the afternoon.

He is expected to arrive to the Manchester early this week.

Fraser has two assists and 30 penalty minutes in 33 games with the Kings this season. This will be his first time back in the AHL since the 2007-08 season.

Fraser brought a lot of fire and passion with a positive spirit to the team especially during the Kings Stanley Cup run in 2012.

There could be player movement that’s approaching and Fraser could return to the Kings dressing room. He was placed on waivers to help the flexibility of the teams salary cap.

In 358 NHL games with the Kings, Edmonton Oilers and Chicago Blackhawks, he has 58 points (20G-38A) and 290 penalty minutes.
