Los Angeles Kings Drew Doughty Gets His 200th Career NHL Point and Martin Jones Gets His Fourth Straight Win, as the Los Angeles Kings Defeat the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-1

The Los Angeles Kings gained their fifth straight win, 3-1, as they took on former goaltender Jonathan Bernier and the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday at Air Canada Centre.

Kings goaltender Martin Jones got his fourth consecutive win, in his fourth consecutive start for the Kings making 38 saves. He is now 4-0-0. Jones now has a .974 Save Percentage, a 0.74 Goals Against Average, and two shutouts.

Although Jones ended his scoreless streak at 177:16 minutes he has stopped 111 of the 114 shot he faced in those four games.

After not taking advantage of 31 straight man advantages, the Kings managed to score a power play goal in two consecutive games.

The Kings penalty kill is still on point, as they killed two of three, and the Maple Leafs killed one of two.

The Kings have allowed two goals or less in 17 straight games, extending the club record. They have also gone 17 games without allowing a goal in the first period.

The first goal, a power play goal came from Drew Doughty as he recorded his 200th career NHL point, at 10:30, assisted by Mike Richards and Jeff Carter.

In the second period at 14:30, the Maple Leafs tied the game with a power play goal of their own. Kings forward Colin Fraser left game after being helped off the ice at 7:19 with an injury after being checked into the boards by the Maple Leafs forward, Frazer McLaren.

At 9:40 in the third period, Carter put one former teammate Bernier, helping the Kings gain the lead once more, assisted by Slava Voynov and Jordan Nolan. Finally, at18:01 Kyle Clifford got the third and final goal of the night, assisted by Tyler Toffoli and Richards.

They are 7-0-2 in the last nine games on the road, the point streak is tied for second longest in club history.

After 32 games the Kings have 46 points, the most they have had after 32 games in club history. The Kings are now second in the Pacific Division, third in the Western Conference and the League.

The Kings continue their four-game road trip against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday, 11:00 am at Canadian Tire Centre.
