The Los Angeles Kings have activated Matt Greene from the injured reserve, leaving Trevor Lewis on the injured reserve, and moved Jonathan Quick to the long term injured reserve, in effort to remain salary cap compliant.

Greene was activated on Tuesday, before the Kings took on the Montreal Canadiens, where the Kings won 6-0.

Prior to Tuesday, Greene had missed 15 games with an undisclosed upper-body injury. Greene has two goals and an assist with a plus-5 rating in 15 games this season.

Trevor Lewis has traveled with the team, but neither Lewis or coach Darryl Sutter would say when he would be ready to play.

Lewis was placed on the injured reserve when Kyle Clifford returned to the line-up. It’s possible Lewis’ injury came from the game against the New Jersey Devils on November 21, where it was recorded twice that Lewis was hit by a Devils player. He has been held without a point and recorded a minus-4 rating in 23 games this season so far.

Quick spoke with Darryl Evans after the Kings beat the New York Islanders 3-0 on Saturday, saying he hopes to get on the ice and see how it feels within the next week.

Quick who hasn’t played since suffering a grade two groin injury during the overtime of a 3-2 shootout loss in Buffalo against the Buffalo Sabres on November 12, has played 16 games, 10-5-0, with a Goals Against Average of 2. 35 and a Save Percentage of .905. This is Quick’s first year playing in 10-year, 58-million dollar contract.

The Kings will travel to Toronto, to take on the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at Air Canada Centre.
