The Los Angeles Dodgers ended their three game losing streak in dramatic fashion as the newly acquired Hanley Ramirez hit a two run home run in the top of the tenth inning to lead the Dodgers to a 5-3 victory over the San Francisco Giants.
The Dodgers got a quality start out of rookie Stephen Fife who threw 6 1/3 innings allowing six hits and three walks while allowing only one earned run. In the eight inning however Ronald Belisario gave up the lead as he allowed Brandon Belt to hit a two run single.
Finally in the 10th inning however in was Ramirez to the rescue as he hit a Sergio Romo pitch into the bleachers to give the Dodgers a 5-3 lead and Kenley Jansen pitched a scoreless bottom half of the inning to give the Dodgers the victory.
Prior to that at bat, Ramirez had struggled at the plate as he had been 0-4 before the home run. Matt Kemp struggled as he went 0-5 on the day, but Andre Ethier was a solid 2-4 with a walk and was on base when Ramirez hit the home run.
The win pulls the Dodgers to within two games of the Giants NL West lead.
