Mascot and Cheerleaders

Blue is the official mascot of the team, named after the primary color of the Colts. He is a blue horse who wears the Colts’ white jersey, as well as horseshoes. He was first introduced in 2006, the same season the team won the Super Bowl, leaving many to believe that he and his horse shoes serve as good luck for the team. The team says that Blue had originally trained to be a race horse, but was ridiculed by all the other horses due to his odd colors, a la Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. He then tried out to be his favorite team’s matchup, and was selected because his colors matched the team.

Blue is joined by the Cheerleaders for the team, outfitted in white, black, and of course blue uniforms. The members of the squad can be seen throughout the community performing routines and serving as ambassadors for the team. Like most franchises, they have put out swimsuit calendars in the past to raise awareness for the team.
