Chris Brown finally broke up his up and down streak with his best week of the season and his second weekly victory.
It came not a moment too soon either as the NFL hits the midway point of the season this week. His 11-4 effort bumped him up to 59-48 this year, which now trails myself by seven games, as I stand at 66-41.
There will not be a lot of room for catch up this week though, as the two of us have a similar grasp to how we see things playing out, which a few games that appear lopsided.
Onto our week eight picks:
Carolina at Tampa Bay
Chris: Panthers – Still an underrated team that started off slow, but beginning to show themselves.
Steven: Panthers – Carolina will be in the playoff picture at the midway point. May need continued help from the NFC teams around them for that to continue.
Dallas at Detroit
Chris: Cowboys – Getting on the right track also at this point.
Steven: Cowboys – Detroit is the type of team that will give Dallas fits everyday of the week, so this is my "hunch" game that it gets through.
San Francisco at Jacksonville
Chris: 49ers – Jacksonville are easily the weakest team in the league, but I'll stick with my pick they may win one later on.
Steven: 49ers – The point differential for Jacksonville is -146 this season. No other team is triple digits.
Cleveland at Kansas City
Chris: Chiefs – Brandon Weeden continue to put his team at a disadvantage, and Kansas City is on top of things.
Steven: Chiefs – 8-0 at midway point? Whodathunk it?
Miami at New England
Chris: Dolphins – This will be my upset of the week, as Miami strolls into New England and gets a win.
Steven: Patriots – New England was owed a loss after it pulled out a late win the week before, should win another close this week.
Buffalo at New Orleans
Chris: Saints – New Orleans still has a hot offense, and can't let a loss fool you at times.
Steven: Saints – People need to take notice of the other side of the ball too, where its defense it amongst the leaders in scoring defense.
New York Giants at Philadelphia
Chris: Giants – Philadelphia is just getting into a down place, could eventually switch places in the standings if New York gets on track.
Steven: Giants – An offensive, turnover fun fest. Can't wait.
New York Jets at Cincinnati
Chris: Bengals – Cincinnati is proving themselves to be a great team.
Steven: Bengals – It goes win-loss-etc. for New York this season, and this is a loss week.
Pittsburgh at Oakland
Chris: Raiders – Neither team is really bad, and it's a tie-type game, but Oakland can pull out a close one.
Steven: Steelers – Very similar teams this year, which favors the home team, but I'll go the other way.
Atlanta at Arizona
Chris: Falcons – A team that needs to get healthy in the worst way.
Steven: Cardinals – Injuries are a lot to get through, can't expect Steven Jackson to be 100 percent for this one.
Washington at Denver
Chris: Broncos – Washington plays like a mess, and Denver won't lose a step after its first loss.
Steven: Broncos – This could be another week the 28-point spread is needed.
Green Bay at Minnesota
Chris: Packers – Josh Freeman appears to be in a world of hurt trying to get into the fold.
Steven: Packers – If you watched this past Monday night, you should know who is going to win.
Seattle at St. Louis
Chris: Seahawks – The league's top defense should tear up St. Louis.
Steven: Seahawks – Shame Sam Bradford tore his ACL, which could make this an easy route for Seattle.
