The Indianapolis Colts may not have initially thought it would get such a game-ready Oakland Raiders team in week one, but its what it ran into at Lucas Oil Stadium during its season opening win.
Quarterback Andrew Luck threw for two touchdowns in the first half, and ran in the game winning score with just over five minutes remaining, as the Colts defeated the Raiders 21-17 Sunday, Sept. 8.
The comeback win for the Colts was Luck's fifth in the fourth quarter or overtime in 17 career regular season starts.
Luck led his team off to a tremendous start, going up 14-0 early in the second quarter, before the Raiders came back with 17 unanswered points.
Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor, making his second career NFL start, led the Raiders with a great performance. Trailing 14-10, Pryor got the Raiders its first lead of the game with a five-yard slant pass to wide receiver Denarius Moore with just over 11 minutes remaining.
Luck led his team down the field on the ensuing drive though. After several third down passing conversions, Luck found a gap in the middle of the field and rushed from 19 yards out to get his team the lead and the eventual victory.
Pryor led his troops down the field one last time and got to within the 10-yard line. After a first down sack by linebacker Robert Mathis, Pryor threw an interception to safety Antoine Bethea with just under 30 seconds left to seal the win for the Colts.
For the game, Luck threw for 178 yards on 18-of-23 passing and two touchdowns.
Luck completed his first 11 passing attempts of the season before missing on a ball in the final minute of the first half.
Running back Vick Ballard got the start, and carried the ball 13 times for 63 yards. Luck added 38 yards on the ground, including the game-winning touchdown, and running back Ahmad Bradshaw made his team debut with 26 yards on seven carries
Wide receiver Reggie Wayne was spectacular again, making eight receptions for 96 yards and a touchdown.

The team made it two-for-two in the first half when Luck found tight end Dwayne Allen across the middle for a 20-yard touchdown reception, breaking a tackle after making a leaping catch at the four.
