The season hasn't even begun, and already there is a Hoosiers on a national award list. Tight end Ted Bolser was added to the 2013 John Mackey Preseason Award list.

The John Mackey award is given to the most outstanding tight end in the country.

Bolser is no stranger to the watch list and this will be the third consecutive season he has started out on the list. Last season, he became just the third tight end in school history to record over 1,000 receiving yards in his career.

In 2012, Bolser recorded 41 receptions for 445 yards and three touchdowns. He set record his freshman season with 27 receptions for 407 yards and five touchdowns in 2010.

Bolser is a match-up nightmare at 6-6 and 254-pounds. He has great hands and the speed to beat most linebackers. A solid season, or one with a competent QB, could see him entering the NFL Draft.

Bolser is one of 37 players across the country to be named to the watch list. There are seven tight ends from the Big Ten on the list as well.

The 2013 John Mackey award will be presented on December 12th. The Home Depot College Football Awards Red Carpet Show begins at 6:00 p.m. ET on ESPNU.

Other finalists for the award can be found here.
