Indiana Hoosiers Vs Florida State Seminoles: NCAA Super Regional Gameday Preview

Today, the Indiana Hoosiers will participate in the baseball programs first Super Regional in school history. The Hoosiers are in Tallahassee to face the Florida State Seminoles
 
Both teams swept their respective regionals. FSU utterly dominated their bracket, scoring a combined 32 runs over three games and giving up just four. They didn't score less than 10 runs in any game. 
 
Indiana (46-14) is rated as the 12th best team in the country per RPI. Florida State (47-15) checks in as the eighth best team in the country. 
 
The two will play a best of three series over the weekend, with the winner heading to the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.
 
Florida State made the tourney via an at-large bid, they had lost four straight games prior to the tournament. The Hoosiers were granted an automatic bid after winning the Big Ten Tournament. 
 
The Hoosiers check in with the 21st best batting average in the nation at .306. Florida State is 71st with a .287 average. 
 
IU owns the sixth best ERA in the country at 2.56, and FSU isn't far behind with a 2.73 ERA, tied for 10th. 
 
Junior Joey DeNato will start for IU on Saturday. DeNato has a 9-2 record and a 2.65 ERA. He will face Luke Weaver, who has a 7-2 record and a 1.95 ERA. 
 
Aaron Slegers will start for the Hoosiers on Sunday. The 6-10 pitcher has a 9-1 record and boasts a 1.94 ERA. Slegers was drafted by the Minnesota Twins Friday in the 5th round of the MLB Draft
 
Slegers will be going up against  Flordia State's Scott Sitz. Sitz has a 10-1 record and a 1.59 ERA. 
 
On offense, the Seminoles are led by DJ Stewart. The freshman has a .363 batting average, 56 RBIs, and five home runs. Jose Brizuela follows Stewart with a .325 average, four homers, and 43 runs batted in. 
 
The Seminoles have a tendency to jump out early on opponents and then dump on more runs. In the first three innings, FSU has outscored opponents 164-65.

The Hoosiers should expect a warm welcome, with temperatures expected to be in the high 80s all weekend and humidity driving that temp up even further.   
 
The first game is scheduled for noon on Saturday. Sunday's game will be at 1pm. Monday's game, if necessary, will also be played at 1pm.
