The Patriots' defense took the life out of the second ranked Texans offense, led by Matt Schaub, robbing their best drive when free safety Devin McCourty grabbed an interception in the end zone. The Patriots’ number one offense, led by star quarterback Tom Brady, riddled the Texans’ defense with three touchdown passes, and went into halftime up 21-0.

The second half wasn’t much better for Houston; after letting Brady pass Johnny Unitas to be 4th in all-time leading touchdowns, with his 18th game with 4+ touchdown passes, the Texans put points on the board with a quick goal line rush from Arian Foster. New England would go on and score again when WR Brandon Lloyd picked up a fumble (by Partriots teammate RB Danny Woodhead) for a touchdown.

The Texans headed home with an embarrassing 42-14 loss, ending their winning streak at six, while New England extends theirs to seven games in a row. Brady finished with a 21/35 passing ratio and 296 yards with four touchdowns, two of them to TE Aaron Hernandez. Texans' QB Schaub threw 19 for 32 and 232 yards, no TDs, just an INT.

Both teams are still atop their respective divisions and have playoff berths locked up. Houston has the tougher of the two remaining schedules; They are due to face the Indianapolis Colts twice as well as the Minnesota Vikings in week 15. New England on the other hand, hosts the San Francisco 49ers next Sunday, followed by games against the struggling Jacksonville Jaguars and the Miami Dolphins. The AFC playoff picture looks exciting to say the least, but it would be a mistake to rule out these top two seeded teams from a Conference Championship Game in January.
