The Houston Astros have signed starting pitcher Armando Galarraga to a minor league deal. While pitching for the Detroit Tigers in 2010, Armando Galarraga pitched 8 2/3 perfect innings against the Cleveland Indians. He lost the perfect game when Indians' SS Jason Donald reached first base safely on a blown call by umpire Jim Joyce. Since then, Galarraga has pitched for Texas Rangers, the Detroit Tigers, and the Arizona Diamondbacks at the professional level.
In the 2011 off-season he signed with the Baltimore Orioles, but was released by the club before the end of Spring training. Galarraga' career record is: 26-30, 4.69 ERA, 329 K, 208 BB.
