Green Bay Packers Drop in NFL Power Rankings

Before we get to another updated slate of NFL Power Rankings, here are some quick-hit surprises from week 13 NFL action:

(1) The Seattle Seahawks are clearly the team to beat in the NFC after their beat-down over the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football.

(2) What happened to the Kansas City Chiefs? Surprising darlings of the NFL only a month ago, the Chiefs have lost more games than the Jacksonville Jaguars in the previous three weeks.

(3) The Indianapolis Colts have arguably been the most up-and-down team this season, but with a win or a Tennessee Titans' loss this upcoming weekend, Indy would be the first team to clinch a division title this season.

(4) Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles STILL hasn't thrown an interception this season…my goodness.

(5) In the NFC North division, eight wins could be enough to clinch a playoff berth in January.

With that said, here are the Goat's latest NFL Power Rankings.

Goat's NFL Power Rankings

1. Seattle Seahawks (11-1)

Last Week: 1

Seahawks have the perfect blend of physicality, toughness and discipline to coincide with superior talent

2. Denver Broncos (10-2)

Last Week: 2

Peyton Manning looks sharp, but the Broncos better hope his play doesn't cool off while the weather around him does

3. Carolina Panthers (9-3)

Last Week: 4

The defense has been incredible, but the secondary will have their hands full defending Drew Brees this weekend

4. New England Patriots (9-3)

Last Week: 5

Having a healthy Shane Vereen and Rob Gronkowski gives the Patriots great hopes to hang with any NFL team

5. New Orleans Saints (9-3)

Last Week: 3

Awful display in Seattle doesn't give any other potential NFC playoff teams hope against the Seahawks in January

6. Indianapolis Colts (8-4)

Last Week: 10

One win away from clinching their first division title since the Manning era

7. San Francisco 49ers (8-4)

Last Week: 7

Michael Crabtree's return is a huge lift for the 49ers offense heading into the playoffs

8. Kansas City Chiefs (9-3)

Last Week: 6

An unhealthy Chiefs team proves to be no match for Peyton Manning's Broncos

9. Cincinnati Bengals (8-4)

Last Week: 9

Bengals itching closer to an AFC North division title, but the Red Rifle has to play better

10. Philadelphia Eagles (7-5)

Last Week: 14

Maybe Chip Kelly as an NFL coach isn't much of a joke after all…

11. Arizona Cardinals (7-5)

Last Week: 8

Carson Palmer has to take better care of the football if Arizona has any plans of being an NFC Playoff Buster

12. Detroit Lions (7-5)

Last Week: 11

Lions in the driver's seat to clinch the NFC North for the first time in…well, forever

13. Dallas Cowboys (7-5)

Last Week: 12

If Jason Garrett wants to keep his job, Cowboys can't trail upcoming opponents by 14+ points like they did at home on Thanksgiving against the Raiders

14. Chicago Bears (6-6)

Last Week: 13

Alshon Jeffery's record-setting day is spoiled by a crucial overtime loss in Minnesota

15. Baltimore Ravens (6-6)

Last Week: 18

Safe to say the Ravens deserved to win on Thanksgiving…

16. Miami Dolphins (6-6)

Last Week: 19

Pieces are quietly starting to come together in Miami

17. Tennessee Titans (5-7)

Last Week: 15

If the Titans had a true franchise quarterback, this team would be unstoppable

18. Pittsburgh Steelers (5-7)

Last Week: 16

Jason Kidd spilled soda on a basketball court to earn his team a timeout, Mike Tomlin raised him by "accidentally" getting in the way of a Jacoby Jones kick return…boneheads

19. San Diego Chargers (5-7)

Last Week: 20

Chargers just makes fans shake their heads…so much talent, but too many mistakes are made at a high rate

20. New York Giants (5-7)

Last Week: 23

Giants need to get Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks more involved in the offense

21. St. Louis Rams (5-7)

Last Week: 21

Rams won't be on the outside looking in at this time next season

22. Green Bay Packers (5-6-1)

Last Week: 17

If Aaron Rodgers doesn't return to the starting lineup on Sunday, the 2013 season is over for Green Bay

23. Oakland Raiders (4-8)

Last Week: 24

Rashad Jennings is making a case for a big raise in the future

24. New York Jets (5-7)

Last Week: 22

Like I said last week: The Jets are who we thought they were all along…

25. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-9)

Last Week: 27

Buccaneers simply couldn't hang with the red-hot Panthers on Sunday

26. Atlanta Falcons (3-9)

Last Week: 28

Steven Jackson finally gets it going for the Falcons up in Canada

27. Cleveland Browns (4-8)

Last Week: 25

The Browns would be smart to build their offense around stud wide receiver Josh Gordon

28. Buffalo Bills (4-8)

Last Week: 26

Part of the growing process is realizing when your team should've won in regulation instead of losing in overtime

29. Minnesota Vikings (3-9-1)

Last Week: 30

Maybe Matt Cassel is better suited to play quarterback for the Vikings instead of Christian Ponder…

30. Washington Redskins (3-9)

Last Week: 29

Despite the poor officiating, the Redskins still handed the Giants a win on Sunday Night

31. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-9)

Last Week: 31

In the "words" of Dory from Finding Nemo: Just keep winning, just keep winning, just keep winning winning winning…

32. Houston Texans (2-10)

Last Week: 32

If I'm an NFL Draft prospect, I definitely want to play for the Texans…Houston has lost seven games by an average of 3.5 points
