Sports Media 101 doesn't consist of only one team, but all professional teams across all major professional sports. This week, we get the luxury of getting an inside scoop on the Green Bay Packers upcoming opponent, the Cleveland Browns.
We sat down and spoke with Jeff Gorman, editor of Browns101 to get some inside information on the Browns, as the Packers will look to win their third consecutive game of the season against the surprising dawgs.
Every week has been a roller coaster of emotions. Browns fans have experienced the highs of quarterback Brian Hoyer
leading the team to victory over the MInnesota Vikings and Cincinnati Bengals, and fans were crushed when Hoyer was hurt in his big hometown showcase game on national TV (against the Buffalo Bills). Even though Brandon Weeden led the Browns to victory in that game, nobody believes that Weeden is the long-term answer, and that includes people from the top of the organization to the guy sitting in front of the TV. The running game has improved with Willis McGahee when the team decides to run the ball. In all three losses of their losses, the Browns have totally abandoned the running game in the second half.
2. The Packers have a legitimate rushing attack this season with rookie Eddie Lacy and an improved offensive line in front of him, so how do you see the Browns defending the Packers' balanced offensive attack?
The Browns run defense has been the strength of the team. The Browns held the Dolphins to 20 yards rushing and held (Minnesota Vikings running back) Adrian Peterson from running wild. So I think the Browns defense can hold its own against Lacy, even if they don’t totally shut him down. The Browns defense has been only vulnerable when the Browns offense fails and they have to keep trudging back onto the field.
3. The Browns lost quarterback Brian Hoyer to a season-ending injury, do you believe 2nd-year quarterback Brandon Weeden is an upgrade or downgrade from Hoyer?
Downgrade. Even though Weeden was a first-round pick last year, he has very clear limitations, as he just turned 30 this week. He holds the ball too long, and he can’t escape the pass rush. Hoyer studied under (New England Patriots quarterback) Tom Brady for four years, and he learned to get rid of the ball. He also seems to make decisions quicker than Weeden. Every Browns fan hopes Hoyer comes back 100 percent next year so the fans can really see what he can do as the starter.
4. If the Cleveland Browns are going to win this game, they are going to have to do what?
is the better team, so the Browns are going to have to make something dramatic happen, like Travis Benjamin
’s punt-return touchdown in the win over the Buffalo Bills. They have to put pressure on Aaron Rodgers
, or it will be a really long day. Most importantly, they have to establish the running game with Willis McGahee. The Browns need Brandon Weeden to be a game manager, limiting his mistakes. The Browns don’t want to be in the position where they have to rely on Weeden to be the hero at the end of the game.
5. Final Prediction?
Even when the tundra isn’t frozen, Lambeau Field is a tough place to play. I think the Green Bay
Packers are going to win, 20-13.

Other News and Notes: The Packers signed wide receiver Tyrone Walker to the practice squad. An undrafted rookie out of Illinois State, Walker was in training camp with the Packers in August but was later released by the team. Walker spent time on the Seattle Seahawks practice squad earlier this year before the Packers signed him on Wednesday. Walker replaces Myles White on the practice squad, as White was promoted to the 53-man roster on Tuesday in place of injured wideout Randall Cobb.
