The NHL Draft takes place this Friday and Saturday in Philadelphia. Round One will be Friday (7 p.m, NBC Sports Network, TSN) with Rounds 2-7 on Saturday (10 a.m, NHL Network-US, TSN/TSN2).

This year's draft isn't as loaded as last year's but that doesn't mean there's a shortage of good players.

A majority of experts agree that Aaron Ekblad will go number 1 to the Florida Panthers, but we will focus on who the Red Wings will take at 15. And depending on the expert, they will have some good options. There's also no clear consensus on what the Wings need, but ESPN's Corey Pronman writes (insider access only) that they could use some help at center.

Here's what various pundits have the Wings doing:

  • Pronman: Sonny Milano, Left Winger, USNDTP, USHL
  • Sportsnet's Patrick King: Robby Fabbri, Center, Guelph Storm, OHL
  • Sportsnet's Sam Cosentino: Jakub Vrana, Center, Linkoping, Sweden
  • Red Line Report's Kyle Woodlief: David Pastrnak, Right Wing, Sodertalje, SWE2
  • TSN's Craig Button: Jared McCann, Center, Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, OHL
•'s Steven Hoffner: Adrian Kempe, Right Winger, Modo-Jr, SWE-Jr.
•'s Adam Kimelman: Jack Dougherty, Defenseman, USA U-18 (USHL)
•'s Mike Morreale: Julius Honka, Defenseman, Swift Current Broncos, WHL
  • USA Today's Kevin Allen: Dylan Larkin, Center, USNDTP, USHL

In addition to the aforementioned names, the following players could be available at 15:

  • Alex Tuch, Right Winger, USNDTP, USHL
  • Nikita Scherbak, Left Winger, Saskatoon Blades, WHL
  • Ivan Barbashev, Center, Moncton, QMJHL
  • Travis Sanheim, Defenseman, Calgary Hitmen, WHL
  • Josh Ho-Sang, Center, Windsor Spitfires, OHL
  • Nick Ritchie, Left Winger, Peterborough Petes, OHL
  • Jake Virtanen, Left Winger, Calgary Hitmen, WHL
  • Kasperi Kapanen, Right Winger, KalPa, Finland
  • Brendan Perlini, Left Winger, Niagra Ice Dogs, OHL
  • Kevin Fiala, Center, HV71, Sweden

Editor's Pick: I have yet to see two pundits who have the Red Wings selecting the same player. The majority seem to think that they will select a forward, but there are those who say they need a defenseman. I personally don't think they can go wrong with selecting any of the aforementioned players, but as I have to make a pick, I threw all the names into a hat and the name I drew was…

(a drumroll please)

Robby Fabbri

A quick note: Fabbri's linemate from Guelph, Tyler Bertuzzi, was drafted by the Wings last year in the second round. Could we see the two together in the NHL?
