Red Wings fans will get a chance to see another piece of the future in today's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning (5 p.m, Fox Sports Detroit Plus).

The team recalled forward Tomas Jurco from their AHL affiliate in Grand Rapids after last night's 4-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Jurco was drafted by the Wings in the second round of the 2011 NHL Draft. The Slovakian leads the Grand Rapids Griffins in scoring with 27 points in 26 games. Today will mark his NHL debut.

Jurco will be replacing Justin Abdelkader in the lineup after Abdelkader sustained a concussion from an illegal check to the head by Pittsburgh's Deryk Engelland. Engelland was ejected from the game and will have an in-person hearing on Wednesday.

To make room for Jurco, Darren Helm was placed on injured reserve.
