Red Wings Update: A four-game winning streak came to a halt on Wednesday in a 6-3 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers, despite a two goal outing from Tomas Tatar. Injuries have taken their toll on the Wings as Pavel Datsyuk (concussion), Henrik Zetterberg (back), Danny DeKeyser (shoulder), and Darren Helm (shoulder) are all out. Todd Bertuzzi returns from a shoulder injury, however. The revolving door of goaltenders continues as Jonas Gustavsson gets the start in net.

Devils Update: After starting the season without a win through seven games, the Devils have hovered at or below the .500 mark. Most of their trouble is due to a lack of offense, as they rank 28th in goals scored per game. Ageless wonder Jaromir Jagr leads the team in scoring with 22 points (11 goals, 11 assists). Much like the Wings, the Devils have been hit hard with injuries as Bryce Salvador (foot), Adam Larsson (lower body), Ryan Carter (leg), Stephen Gionta (ankle), and Ryane Clowe (head) have all been out for an extended amount of time. Cory Schneider gets the nod to start in goal tonight.

Players to Watch:

Devils:

Jagr: Besides leading the Devils in scoring, he is currently tied with Steve Yzerman for eighth all time in NHL regular season goals with 692.

Travis Zajac: One of the better two-way players in the NHL

Schneider: The heir to long-time Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur.

Red Wings:

Johan Franzen: Nine points in his last seven games.

Daniel Alfredsson: Six points in his last three games.

Gustavsson: Continuing on a career pace in net.

Prediction: Two injury-decimated teams usually results in a snoozer of a game. The Devils offense is just too anemic and facing a Monster in net.

Make It: Red Wings 2, Devils 1
