TSN's Darren Dreger writes that the Wings need to clear cap room for when Darren Helm returns, and Tootoo could be the odd man out, as he carries a $1.9 million cap hit.
Dreger also writes that the Wings want to bring up Gustav Nyquist from Grand Rapids.
If Tootoo does get moved, some reports say that the Edmonton Oilers are most interested. The Oilers just dealt tough guy Mike Brown to the San Jose Sharks for a draft pick, and might be looking for some grit in their lineup.
