Two former Detroit Red Wings are headed to the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Brendan Shanahan and Chris Chelios both learned yesterday that they will be inducted into the Hall this fall.

Chelios made it in on his first ballot appearance. He called the acknowledgement, "a great honor."

Shanahan got in on his second appearance on the ballot.

“I’m very proud to be a part of this group,” Shanahan said.

Both men will join Igor Larionov, Brett Hull, Steve Yzerman, and Luc Robitaille as former Red Wings in the Hall. Nicklas Lidstrom, who retired in 2012, is expected to join them as soon as 2015.

The 2013 Class will be inducted November 11 in Toronto.
