Justin Abdelkader had earned a reputation as Pavel Datsyuk's piano puller.

The Detroit Red Wings forward struggled to score early in the season, as it took him until March 7 to get his first goal of the season.

But he wouldn't be kept quiet for very long, as he started to find chemistry playing on a line with Datsyuk.

No. 4: A Piano Puller's Hat Trick

Date: March 22, 2013

Opponent: Anaheim Ducks

What Happened: Abdelkader recorded his first career hat trick that night with three goals. He also assisted on a goal by Johan Franzen.

The first goal came at 13:36 of the first period as Abdelkader took a long bomb pass from Brendan Smith. He then danced around Sheldon Souray before beating Viktor Fasth with a wrister.

Abdelkader added his second at 3:06 of the second as he sent a roof shot home, which propmtly chased Fasth.

The third goal came at 12:46 when he beat Jonas Hiller with a wrister.

The Wings would win the game 5-1.

They Said It:

"Sometimes the puck will find you, or follow you, and maybe that was the case this game. We had a good team game. Give those guys a lot of credit – Pav and [Johan Franzen]. They've done a tremendous job, and I'm just trying to do my part and pull, as Pav would say, the piano, up and down the ice."
