Pooch's Picks has reached its conclusion, and given the fall of both dogs in the standings, it's not the epic finish many could have predicted midway through the season. Cooper had a better 9-7 week, but the author was 8-8, which means the right move wasn't made to set up a fight to the end.
In the final week of the regular season, it will take a stunning, epic collapse for the human to lose this. Nothing should be considered surprising, however, as miracles can happen. As the season winds down, the dogs unanimously like the Vikings, Panthers, Jets, Redskins and Patriots. We're barking to a big finish in week 17.
Carolina at Atlanta: Both dogs are going with the Panthers to win a game they should. They're right, as the Falcons are coasting to a terrible finish and won't have much motivation left. C: Carolina, I: Carolina, M: Carolina
Baltimore at Cincinnati: In an important game for AFC seeding, Cooper likes the Bengals to win at home, while Izzy thinks the Ravens get the job done. The Bengals are tough on home turf, and prove it again with another important win. C: Cincinnati, I: Baltimore, M: Cincinnati
Houston at Tennessee: The former Oilers visit the current Oilers in a largely meaningless divisional contest. Cooper thinks Houston ends on a positive note, while Izzy's got the Titans winning the game. Chris Johnson helps the Titans beat a Texans team which has given up. C: Houston, I: Tennessee, M: Tennessee
New York Jets at Miami: It's a big game for the playoff push, and Izzy has Miami emerging victorious. Cooper thinks Rex Ryan helps save his job (perhaps) with a win. New York wins this one behind a devil may care attitude. C: New York Jets, I: Miami, M: New York Jets
Detroit at Minnesota: The Lions and Vikings close down the Metrodome in a game that could decide the fate of both head coaches. It's a clean sweep here, as both dogs say Minnesota wins, and there's no disagreement. Vikings close out the dome in style. C: Minnesota, I: Minnesota, M: Minnesota
Washington at New York Giants: In last weekend's overtime win against the Lions, the Giants may have found some momentum. The dogs don't think so, picking the Redskins. The Giants win a close one to go out on top. C: Washington, I: Washington, M: Washington
Cleveland at Pittsburgh: The Steelers need a win to stay in the conversation, while the Browns are done. Despite that, Cooper likes Cleveland to win, while Izzy's got the Steelers at home. Pittsburgh gets the job done. C: Cleveland, I: Pittsburgh, M: Pittsburgh
Green Bay at Chicago: The NFC North is on the line, as the Packers visit the Bears. Izzy's been on the Packers bandwagon all year and she's sticking with them. Cooper's got Chicago winning at home. Aaron Rodgers gets Green Bay over the top on the road. C: Chicago, I: Green Bay, M: Green Bay
Denver at Oakland: In what should be a snoozer, Cooper sees an upset, going with the Raiders. Izzy's got the Broncos and she's on the right track. Denver wins. C: Oakland, I: Denver, M: Denver
Buffalo at New England: There's no chance for the Bills here, and the dogs agree. Clean sweep. Patriots win. C: New England, I: New England, M: New England
Tampa Bay at New Orleans: Cooper sees another upset on the horizon, picking the Buccaneers to win. Izzy's got New Orleans, and that's the responsible way to go considering the game location. C: Tampa Bay, I: New Orleans, M: New Orleans
San Francisco at Arizona: izzy is calling for the upset in the desert, picking the Cardinals. Cooper likes the 49ers, and he's on the right track. San Francisco wins another late season game they need. C: San Francisco, I: Arizona, M: San Francisco
Kansas City at San Diego: The Chargers are in win-now mode late in the season, which means they're dangerous and get the job done at home. Cooper agrees, while Izzy has the Chiefs prevailing on the road. C: San Diego, I: Kansas City, M: San Diego
St. Louis at Seattle: There's no chance for the Rams to win this one, right? Cooper says wrong, taking St. Louis to win. Izzy sticks with the Seahawks and that's the right move. The Rams are game, but Seattle wins. C: St. Louis, I: Seattle, M: Seattle
Philadelphia at Dallas: The biggest game of them all will send a winner to the playoffs out of the NFC East and the loser, in all likelihood, home. Cooper thinks Dallas wins even without Tony Romo, while Izzy has the Eagles advancing. The loss of Romo is huge here. Philadelphia gets the nod. C: Dallas, I: Philadelphia, M: Philadelphia
