As reported earlier, Broncos starting strong safety Quinton Carter will be sidelined for the Broncos' first two preseason games. As a result of this news, the Broncos are exploring free agent options at safety. Former starting SS for the Jets, Ravens and Bills, Jim Leonhard, will work out for the Broncos tomorrow.
Leonhard suffered through nagging injuries last year, and is still recovering from a patellar tendon tear that ended his 2011 season while with the Jets. Leonhard worked out for his former team, the Buffalo Bills, earlier today.
The Broncos have Rahim Moore and Mike Adams as their current starting safeties entering the preseason. David Bruton, the recently signed college free agent Anthony Perkins and Duke Ihenacho are all battling for playing time at the safety positions.
